I walked through the vision gate and found myself standing on a polished surface like glass. A bright light shone from above and passed through the material, revealing colors that emanated forth from it and swirled in rainbows and patterns beneath my feet. For some time, all I could see was this hypnotic, reflective surface and the light shining down upon it.
Then, a being made entirely of flame appeared and floated in the air before me. “I am a genie and a creature of legend,” the spirit of living fire said. “I will guide you through this place, the realm of the Mother, for I am her servant in all levels of creation.”
“Thank you for your assistance, Servant of the Mother,” I said. “Without your help, I might have been stuck here, admiring the entryway for time untold.”
“There is nothing wrong with that,” said the spirit. “I did the same for thousands of years and when I looked up from my contemplation of the Mother’s mysteries, I had assumed the form that you see now.”
“What did you learn during this transformative period of contemplation?” I said. “I am fascinated by the mysteries of Creation and the observable patterns they contain.”
“First, tell me who you are and why you are here,” the spirit said. “Not all who find their way to this distant world are as they appear to be.”
“No worries on that account. My name is Heidi and I’ve come from another world, seeking the genesis of a vision I had once and also the true nature of all I encounter in the Other Worlds,” I said. “I’ve traveled this path before but the Realm of the Mother looks different since I was last here. I remember a pumpkin patch with faerie attendants but now there’s only this beautiful glass floor and rainbow light.”
“My revelation addresses your question directly for I learned the Divine Mother has an infinite amount of aspects and may appear in any way she wishes,” the spirit said. “The goddess’ ability to change appearance applies to her servants and seat of power as well.”
“How does she choose what form to take at any given time?” I said.
“Her form is determined by the one viewing her. The variety and endless offering of forms helps others comprehend her in the way best suited to them,” the spirit said. “There are also various worlds and hidden lands where the Mother holds sway, perhaps you visited one of those on your first sojourn through this sphere of influence. At any rate, welcome back, wandering Heidi. Come with me.”
