When I drew the three of wands in a tarot card reading two weeks ago, I expected the next week’s reading would reflect the emotion that roiled the U.S. in the wake of the longest State of the Union in history. Little did I realize what would happen next in Iran and the ensuing domino effect on the surrounding countries.
Others have discussed what is going on in the Middle East at length. In today’s post rather than rehash all that has come before, I wish to give the world what The Light Congress has to say about war.
Who’s The Light Congress? If you haven’t read any of my blog, I suggest you start here: https://thelightcongress.com/2025/03/23/foreword-and-introduction/
The obvious association with the world of perpetual war which the qabalists call ‘Geburah’ are the fives in the tarot deck. Here are the chapters of The Light Congress in ascending order through the worlds of Assiah (manifestation, earth), Yetzirah (formative, air), Briah (creative, water), and Atziluth (archetypical, fire) that take place in Geburah.
Five of Pentacles: https://thelightcongress.com/2025/03/27/chapter-5-pool-of-eternal-flame/ Meeting Aries in his seat of power and learning a lesson from Diana the Huntress.
Five of Swords: https://thelightcongress.com/2025/04/09/chapter-16-the-great-warrior-king-and-children-of-war/ Badger introduces me to the Great Warrior King, a power of the ancient world, and healing the eyes of those who fight the wars on Earth.
Five of Cups: https://thelightcongress.com/2025/04/21/chapter-26-blades-of-eternity-and-the-skye-palace-of-ares/ Finding peace within the forces of Mars’, both the embodied and the formless ones.
Five of Wands: https://thelightcongress.com/2025/05/02/chapter-36-samson-and-delilah-or-when-love-went-to-war/ What might happen if Venus went to war? Maybe something like this.
Finally, research indicates that the tarot card most associated with war is The Chariot. Here is an early chapter of The Light Congress where a chariot bears me away to other worlds: https://thelightcongress.com/2025/04/06/chapter-13-chocolate-cake-and-the-song-of-the-undines/ I meet a wizard named ‘Nobody’ and learn the Song of the Undines. I discover the power of thought and emotion on the waking world.
Perhaps these scholars, explorers and warriors of light from the Inner Realms can help dispell some of the shadows running rampant out there in the world. May the symbolism and lessons in these stories give you peace, hope and strength in whatever you are facing in your life this week.
Thank you for reading,
Heidi
