How did everyone do last week? The tarot card and associated pathworking for Feb. 16-22 was the five of swords, which can signify approaching battles and wars fought with words.

Let’s take a moment to review what happened. Overall, the five of swords is a card about difficult conversations (I personally had more than one of those), challenging circumstances, and facing shadows from the collective rulers of the world at a personal level.
We lost a great many illuminaries last week to death but the one who optimized the theme of the pathworking in my mind was the Rev. Jesse Jackson. The great shadow that Rev. Jackson fought his entire life was racism.
Racism has not ended, a sad and very obvious fact if one looks at the state of the world, but I think we should take a moment to celebrate some of Rev. Jackson’s great victories.
He assisted in the fight for the causes of equality and justice for all for decades. He formed numerous groups to create communities for those also interested in political change and giving a voice to those who had none.
He witnessed the election of Barack Obama, our first African American President. He also witnessed Kamala Harris become the first African and Asian American (female) Vice President as well as serve as the first major female minority candidate for President of the United States. What an extraordinary accomplishment for the movements that Rev. Jackson championed.
The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream that one day his children would be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. We stand in this dream now. This is not insignificant and a point of hope for those who share a vision of the future as Rev. Jackson did.
My deepest sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues for his loss. He will be missed and those who champion his dream of a better world for all will soldier on. Death is not an ending when considering the legacy of one who served humanity as this man did.

Now for this week’s reading.
The tarot card is the three of wands with two supporting cards, the knight and page of cups.
Here is a link to The Light Congress pathworking about the three of wands called ‘Joining the Unconditional Love of the Formless Ones’: https://thelightcongress.com/2025/05/05/chapter-38-the-lady-of-form-and-light/
The major themes for this card are the divine feminine principle, the power of collective action, the subtle nature of passing thoughts and emotions and how they may be directed to cause change, taking personal responsibility for one’s life and actions, as well as using your unique voice to speak your personal message to the world.
The three of wands has been called a visionary card. In the deck I’m using, an anthropomorphized boar stands between three tall staves and looks out on a golden sea upon which three ships are sailing from left to right. If you have been making plans for future events, you should see some movement on those plans this week.
Wands as a suite represent the elemental nature of fire and is considered one of the primal forces of the world. It can represent powerful and swift change that burns away past obstacles.
The interaction of the knight and page with the three of wands makes me believe that events will conspire this week to bring about circumstances in which an elder and a younger person will cause great change at an emotional level. This could happen in your personal life or on the national stage. You could embody the elder or younger spirit or both at the same time.
Be especially aware of thoughts and emotions that race through your spirit this week. Properly directed such inspirations have the power to change the world. Take responsibility for what you do with these opportunities when they come.
Are you sharing your personal message through your life and actions or someone else’s? If you are not speaking with your own voice, would you like to?
I look forward to celebrating your victories with you next week and learning from the failures, whatever those may be.
Until then, thanks for reading!
